PET Release Film (PET Silicone Film / Heat Transfer Film)
PET release film, also known as PET silicone film, is a common material for heat transfer applications. Manufactured by coating silicone oil onto a polyester film substrate, it delivers release performance by lowering surface adhesion of PET film.
Classified by release force: light release, medium release and heavy release film.
Classified by structure: single-sided and double-sided release film.
Standard thickness ranges from 0.012 mm to 0.188 mm, which can be slit into customized sizes. After anti-static treatment, the material features excellent thermal stability, superior surface flatness and strong tensile resistance. Its temperature resistance reaches 180°C for long-term use and 200°C for short-term exposure.

It is widely used in packaging, printing, electronics, pharmaceutical (plaster base paper), sanitary paper and other industries. The consumer electronics sector accounts for 49% of market demand (2024), mainly adopted for coating electronic adhesive materials and precision die-cutting. The MLCC manufacturing industry takes up 36% as a core consumable, requiring strict surface smoothness standards. Product forms include transfer films, high-gloss films and reflective films, which play vital roles in PCB production, liquid crystal displays, optical discs and other optoelectronic products. Domestic manufacturers mostly produce mid-to-low-end products, while several enterprises have achieved mass production of high-end grades for overseas export.
PET release film is also called PET silicone transfer film. A layer of silicone oil is coated on the PET film surface to reduce surface adhesion and realize the release effect. It can be categorized into single-sided and double-sided release films. In terms of release force, there are light, medium and heavy release types.
