Manufacturing process of high-pressure release paper Gracin release paper

2026 02/28

The process of manufacturing super calendered high-density paper (Glassine release paper) involves using overpressure calendering. Due to the special calendering treatment, this type of paper has a high density, smooth and glossy surface. It not only maintains the good heat resistance of paper but also improves water resistance, making it less prone to dimensional changes after exposure to moisture. Therefore, it is an ideal substrate for release paper. The disadvantage is its higher price.
default name
• Polyester, polypropylene or polyethylene film laminated paper

After a layer of polyester (PET), polypropylene (PP), or polyethylene (PE) film is adhered to various types of paper using adhesive, the water resistance of the paper can be improved, resulting in a smooth and glossy surface. The dimensions of the paper are less likely to change after exposure to moisture, while still maintaining the paper's good creep resistance. However, after being covered with plastic film, the heat resistance of the paper decreases, especially when using PE film.

• Plastic films such as polyester (PET), biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP), and polyethylene (PE)

Using this type of plastic film as the substrate for release film has the advantages of transparency, smooth and glossy surface

It has advantages such as good water resistance and resistance to dimensional changes after exposure to moisture, but it also has disadvantages such as poor heat resistance and creep resistance, especially for PE film. PET film has better heat resistance and creep resistance because it is commonly used as the substrate for high-grade transparent anti-adhesive films.
