Article 2: The Manufacturing Process of Double-Sided Release Film: Precision and Innovation
The production of double-sided release film is a sophisticated process that demands precision engineering and advanced technology to ensure consistent quality across every roll. The process typically begins with the selection of a base film, which is chosen based on the intended application—for example, PET film is preferred for high-temperature applications due to its excellent thermal resistance, while PP film is cost-effective for general-purpose use. The base film undergoes pre-treatment, such as corona treatment or plasma treatment, to enhance the adhesion of the release coating, ensuring it bonds firmly to the film surface without peeling off during use.

Next comes the coating stage, where the silicone release agent is applied to both sides of the base film. This can be achieved through various methods, including gravure coating, slot-die coating, or spray coating, each offering distinct advantages in terms of coating uniformity and thickness control. The coated film then undergoes a curing process, usually in an oven at controlled temperatures, to crosslink the silicone molecules and form a stable, non-stick surface. Post-curing, the film is subjected to quality control tests, such as release force measurement, thickness inspection, and surface tension analysis, to ensure it meets the required specifications. Continuous innovation in manufacturing techniques, such as the development of solvent-free coating processes, has not only improved the environmental friendliness of production but also enhanced the performance and consistency of double-sided release film.
