TTS Tedesi N15 series release film: medical grade clean barrier, solving the challenge of personal care product release, reprinted from: Tsinghua University Institute of Financial Technology, "Weiyang Network"

Recently, the 21st Shanghai International Tape and Film Exhibition came to an end. At this flagship event in the global field of adhesive new materials and functional film materials, TTS Tedesi showcased its medical release film products, fully demonstrating the application prospects of release film materials in various fields such as new consumer electronics, automotive, medical, semi-solid state batteries, hydrogen energy, and more.
 
At present, with the upgrading of consumer demand, consumers have put forward higher requirements for product quality, especially in the field of personal care and medical care. Balancing safety and efficiency has become an industry challenge. Taking the application of release film products in specific products such as acne patches and sobering liver protection tablets as an example, the core requirements for release films can be summarized as follows:

Firstly, there are requirements for food and drug contact:
 
Sensory requirements: All release film products of this type must not cause sensory discomfort, have no odor or foreign matter, and have high requirements for the cleanliness of the production environment. The sensory requirements also include passing the transfer test, which means that there is no discomfort in sensory performance such as turbidity, sedimentation, odor, etc. when tested in the specified soaking solution.

General physical and chemical index requirements: The main quantitative detection is the total migration of the release film in 10% ethanol, which should be less than 1.2mg/dm2 according to relevant national standards.

Heavy metal control: Heavy metals are tested according to the corresponding national standard methods and are less than 1mg/kg.
 
Residual solvent control, especially for aromatic and commonly used solvents. TTS's N15 series medical release film products can ensure no solvent residue.
 
Microbial indicators: For medical release film products, TTS has developed a specialized control operation process to ensure that microbial indicators (including various aerobic bacteria, mold, and yeast indicators, especially Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) are controlled without abnormalities.

Release force control: It is convenient for consumers to easily peel off and ensure smooth peeling or transfer during coating or die-cutting processes. TTS Tedros has developed specific products to cope with different processes such as oven heating, UV, gamma ray disinfection, or ethylene oxide sterilization lamps that may be encountered by customers for this type of release film product, thereby ensuring stable release force that meets customer requirements.
 
Cleanliness control: TTS release film products of this type have strict cleanliness control from raw materials to coating and cutting.
 
Thermal shrinkage control: When some products require strict requirements for thermal shrinkage, TTS Tedros has specialized solutions.

After experimental analysis and verification, TTS Tedesi has launched multiple specialized release film products for medical products, represented by the N15 series. TTS Tedesi's unique coating process not only improves the chemical stability of the release film material, but also solves practical production problems for customers after testing such as adhesive peeling and skin simulation.
 
The advantages of using the N15 series in acne patches mainly lie in: less silicon transfer, stable release force, environmental protection, anti-static and cleanliness, and stability in mass production.
 
At present, TTS Tedesi has basically been localized, and the company has a GRS environmentally certified product series. The environmentally friendly PET or ultra light PP release film technology (thickness ≤ 50 μ m) can effectively meet the thinning requirements of acne patches; In terms of release force, TTS provides multiple release force solutions ranging from ultra light to overweight, which can be customized to meet the peeling needs of acne patches; In terms of anti-static and cleanliness, the N15 series can also be equipped with anti-static coatings to prevent customers from adsorbing dust during the production process, ensuring the cleanliness of the patch.
